Only in South-East Asia they come for: gibbons, a monkey species that belongs to the great apes. They walk like our right to help as a volunteer, you can go a. Special gibbon reception in the Thai region Mae Sot, where white handed gibbons, piliated ruif-and be taken care of. These gibbons are rescued from the hands of merchants or come from people who held these animals as pets. Especially if the gibbons are small they look very cute. But if they get larger they can, also against each other, become aggressive. Often the pets and cannot then dumped back into the wild. The gibbon project was established in 1991 and started a baby gibbon that was brought to the founders and they have taken care of with love. Years later, the accommodation has become one where shelter.
As a volunteer you help when feeding, washing and combing of the animals (the only animals affected people are used), cleaning the cages and all other common work. Sometimes may volunteers as a gibbon somewhere must be retrieved or to be saved.
The gibbon shelter is located near the city of Mae Sot, on the border with Myanmar. Because of this, it is good to combine with volunteering in this authentic country. Or make a combination of the gibbon project, us elephants project, a volunteer project or orientation week in Thailand!
